Welcoming Workshops to Jatobá
Over the sunny weekend, Jatobá Founder & Designer, Jordan Lucia, took to The Purple Owl in Wandsworth for their first introductory creative workshop where participants delved into a choice of Mosaic or Tile Painting for the afternoon.
Jordan, with a design background in fine-art painting and a speciality in mosaic led the workshop.
Attendees commended the workshop to be within an environment that was calm, inviting and creatively inspiring and The Purple Owl lived up to their preconceptions.
The Purple Owl, Wandsworth, having been launched recently had a lot to offer. Founder of Jatobá , Jordan Lucia, described The Purple Owl to be the epitome of a creative and unique space welcoming to all. From the neo-soul playlist, record wall, bar, workshop area and materials - everything seemed well thought out and intentionally curated. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout the duration of the workshop; From drinks to cellotape ‘runs’ - no request was too big or too small.

As the attendees chose their design activity and materials, Jordan proceeded to vocally demonstrate how to carry-out the process whilst allowing attendees to follow their own creative leadership and pace within the workshop. No two pieces designed by the class were the same. A completely unique pathway for those present.

When Janet first walked into the workshop, Jordan asked if she had participated in mosaic or painting before. She shyly smiled and said that she was not particularly creative but that she saw the free workshop promoted on Eventbrite and decided to come along and try something new. Later in the afternoon, once the class had finished, Jordan asked Janet how she found the workshop and creating her objects. Janet followed onto saying she found the workshop to be ‘…So refreshing and relaxing…’ and that she enjoyed her time at Jatobá‘s first welcome workshop.
